We Drank Our Orange Juice and Headed for the Beach
Day 1 - Florida 2018
There is something so fun about the long drive to the Florida and going to get your free fresh squeezed orange juice at the Florida Welcome Center. Kind of like the "free water" at Wall Drug in South Dakota. These are the fun things to look forward to on a long road trip.

We are excited to be in Florida! The funny thing is that the children know that we are in Florida, but after we left the welcome center the younger ones kept asking "When are we getting to Florida?" Fort Myers Beach and the ocean and our camping spot practically on the beach is "Florida" to them. Only 4 more hours to go to get to Fort Myers Beach!
On our long drives, we listen to books on tape, talk, listen to music and the children's favorite... they get to watch videos which we do not do much at home. Our videos are mostly about nature, creation and science. If they are going to watch videos I love that they are learning while watching them.
We made it to the Red Coconut RV Park! Everyone was so excited to get out and start digging in the sand.
It is a lot of fun staying here because there are a lot of people there the same week year after year and lots of new people to meet and lots of new dogs to get to know.
We have found that whether camping in a tent in a camground or staying at this RV park in Florida, people are so kind and friendly. There are the few that are not, but for the most part we find that people that are camping tend to be very friendly.
Our children are very outgoing so they make lots of new friends for us as well. We met a very nice woman today said she was going to go shelling at Sanibel Island the next day and she was going to bring back shells for our children.
It didn't take long to get everything set up and get out to the beach!
We love the sunsets here! Many people come out to the beach every night to watch the sunset over the ocean.

Off to bed! We look forward to our first full day at the beach tomorrow!
