The BEST Flourless Paleo Brownies

Brownies... who doesn't love brownies..  especially when they are warm and gooey paleo brownies that taste better than regular brownies!  I have not tried to make these while camping yet.  I would like to try them in my dutch oven over the fire but haven't yet.  These are fun treat the for the car when traveling or a great celebration and incentive for after camp is set up!  This and my cookie recipe are my most requested recipes so I thought that I would share it here with you.

These brownies are fairly healthy for you as treats go.  They have no flour and no refined sugar. I make these for birthdays and special treats.  Many times my children ask for these for their birthday breakfast.

Most aren't going to understand when my children say that they had brownies for breakfast every once in awhile.  But when you make healthy treats, it is so fun to be able to have them for a special surprise meal and not be concerned about your children only eating junk.

The only thing about these is that although they are so good and you just want to keep eating them, because they are made of almond butter they are so filling!

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of raw honey or pure maple syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons Vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/2 cup cacao/coco powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • (1 cup chopped nuts - optional)

Directions:

1.  Mix together with a whisk the nut butter, egg, sweetener, and vanilla until smooth.

2.  Add the sea salt and cacao/coco powder and mix (may need a spoon or spatula at this point).

 3.  Add the baking soda last and mix in well, but do not over mix.

4.  Pour into a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 325 degrees for 25ish minutes.  It is finished when the middle is still somewhat gooey and the outside is firm.

IMPORTANT:  Read below for special cooking instructions.***

***READ THIS, AS IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR GOOD BROWNIES!

There are different cooking times depending on if you use the maple syrup or the raw honey.  The raw honey in my experience may need to cook a little longer than 25 min.

The key to these brownies turning out well is to make sure they are not over cooked!!! They still need to be soft and a little gooey in the middle.  I bake them until the outside is firm but the inside is still gooey.  They are so, so good this way but we have had them too cooked and then they are dry and do not taste very good so make sure you watch them and take them out even if you think they may not be done.  Better to have them a little too undercooked than over cooked.

Fun healthy food is a great way to celebrate with your family!  As we seek to eat a clean diet, I want to have yummy treats that I feel good about feeding my children.  I love to have special desserts that my children love to eat!

These brownies are our favorite!!!

I’d rather give my children a life of adventure than a house full of stuff.

Yay! Wonderful! I am so glad you liked them! Thank you for letting us know! Great idea to use half peanut butter and half almond butter. I will keep that in mind if I don’t have enough almond butter sometime. They really are the best brownies!!! Enjoy!!!
