The Best Gluten Free Spaghetti with Browned Butter Recipe

Spaghetti is a simple, but great meal to do camping.  My trick is to cook the meat before you go and freeze it.  It saves you time and you don’t have raw meat in your cooler.  Then when on your trip just take it out and heat it up with the spaghetti sauce.

This is my family's favorite meal at home and camping!

Spaghetti with Browned Butter:

Ingredients:
  • 1 package spaghetti noodles (we use gluten free brown rice/quinoa noodles from Trader Joe’s they are great and taste just like regular noodles, just be sure to not over cook them)
  • 1 jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce (ours is Trader Joe's Organic Marinara Sauce)
  • 1-2 lbs cooked ground meat (I use grass-fed ground beef)
  • 1 stick butter (we love Kerry Gold butter) - The KEY Ingredient!

 Directions:

1.  Boil the water and add noodles per their directions until done, and drain the water into the campfire pit.
2.  Heat up the ground meat and spaghetti sauce until warm.
3.  This is the key ingredient to really amazing spaghetti, the butter!  Brown the butter in a separate pan.  Watch it closely and stir so that it does not bubble over.  Once it is browned, add it to the noodles and mix in (be careful with children around as the browned butter is super hot).
4.  Add the sauce mixture, mix it up and you have a wonderful meal!
5.  We like to have parmesan cheese on the table as everyone likes to add that to their spaghetti.

This is a meal that all of our children love!  Probably their favorite meal.  It is nice to have some meals that are familiar while camping that you know your family loves.  The butter adds so much flavor and it adds some good fat to fill everyone up after a great day of hiking, camping and exploring.  Enjoy!
